An Eventful Night

My calendar declared it be an eventful Saturday evening and so I humbly obeyed. Plans began around 7pm that night and so I found myself trapped in front of a screen of dreams before the time came. A "New Song" to the Lord had been professed from my lips and so I felt an urge to begin production on this song of praise. "Just one more edit, one more listen through" I kept telling myself as the clock ticked in my head. It was less a feeling of stress and more a feeling of infatuation. I looked up and saw the time had come and after a quick Command+S I was off to my first event of the night.

After the switching of trains and singing of songs in the subway,

(yes I have become that crazy guy who sings in public)

I reached event number one. This event became the proclamation of a man, my friend, stating (a summary of the event)"I will pastor, I will preach but not only on a pulput to the flock, and to the world, but more importantly to myself, for in times of question and unenthusiasm I will stand strong in the Lord reminding myself who I serve and of his greatness and mercy." and so he became ordained and was prayed over by Godly men thus bringing about a new chapter in his life and proud smile on my face. After hugs and conversations, laughs and some sweets, the next event called out and with the bidding of adieu I left in the night to the place I lay my head.

I few more songs sung out loud on a subway and I made it back to my house. I was surprisingly early for my next event because the prayers and praises to God had lingered on much longer than anticipated. The extension was also due to a guest that had come to the house of prayer. He was a man who spoke God's words, a man of the prophetic and he became my unanticipated next encounter, for this man I asked to pray over me and so he did. After his blessings I knew it was time and with thoughts and questions in my head I went upstairs. The house had prepared for this night all day. We had made cake and cookies, decorated and invited guests. Now we waited for her to walk up the stairs to a room of friends. "Happy Birthday!" we all excalaimed and so the joy consumed her and she was glad. "We did good!" Shear Genius said to me and with that I knew the night had just begun.

10:29 - Kitchen Time

Sitting in a kitchen with a half a mind still able to comprehend, at this point it doesn't matter, just watching these awesome people share there lives and beliefs is a blessing. I don't need to speak, I don't need to interject. It's time to listen and learn more about my friends. Ultimately, it's about a family and that's what we are becoming ... a family! This isn't a tarradiddle, I speak from my heart. I'm learning to love these guys more and more each day, as I do with God. The longer the discussion and bonding goes on, the larger our group seems to become. A roommate comes out of her sleep to join our time together.... because these moments are special. This is a great house and I thank God for always giving me the best!

I love you guys! :)

When the Saints win...

A group of 4 men meet a night of possibilities one Sunday evening. After an experience of something not of this world they leave to meet up once again in a house of justice. When all have arrived they find the Saints have been victorious and so they rejoice! In what fashion would 4 young men jubilate? Oh they extol in dance! It starts with the dancing feet of two of the men, which leads the others to boogie and soon the women of the house join in. From jerking to swinging from salsa to waltzing! They even find themselves moon walking and doing the turtle. Oh what a great Sunday this was!

Faces of Escape

It was one of those normal evenings in the Boston winter night, where your hands freeze when uncovered and your nose feels like an ice cube.

(I tell you the truth, I don't know if I'll ever adapt to the cold winter of Boston coming from the other side of The American coast where the sun is always shining.)

Anyways, a text from a friend came that night, an invitation of sorts, and me being the type that is socially dyspathetic, at first, didn't know how I would respond. Through it all I decided to go forward and meet up with my acquaintance. I quickly found this place... unlike my last adventure, lol. Walking into this lair of sorts I found my friend and a stool, and so I sat and it began. Though I am not one to consume normally, it was the situation where a man would consume and so I did. I consumed and talked, laughed and caught up. Catching up was a big pull of me being there.

(Well, that and I needed something else to blog about, lol)

After a couple drinks, 10 good laughs and the sharing of each others lives, I looked up, out, and around. Concluding my extensive scan of the room I noticed more and more people than had previously come to my attention . The 'faces of escape' surrounded me as a sat talking with a friend. This dwelling was now packed, claustrophobia was beginning to set in.

"So, these are where the faces go looking for smiles and a 'good time'!" I thought.

There would be no other reason for a line around the corner to a place like this. A place of dim lights and less than appropriate clothing attire needed for access. It was where the cockroaches came out, for it was a place untouched by the light. When the night grew deeper the line forming became longer and then the escape began. The dance between lust and the desire of acceptance commenced, and thus the summon to my pallet arose and I answered in a positive embrace. This my friends is where my adventure came to an end and my eye lids came to a close.
