Praying for... 'Courage for Christians in America' - Friday Jan. 28 2011

Info:
America was established on godly precepts. The framers of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and other such early documents drew heavily on the rule of God and his Word in forming the new nation.  Somehow in recent decades American Christians have abdicated their responsibility and allowed their country to go down a precipitous path from God.

What is the result?  The rise of secularism, accompanied by actions and statements that demean God and Jesus, and most dangerously, the rise of Islam in America.  I realize that America in not the Kingdom of God, but it did start as a 'city on a hill."  Sadly, it has allowed its light to grow dim!

Promise:
You will call, and the LORD will answer.  You will cry for help, and he will say "Here I am!" (Isaiah 58:9, GW)

Prayer:
You alone are God.  Blessed be Your glorious name from everlasting to everlasting.  It is exalted above all blessing and praise (Nehemiah 9:5-6).  You are the One who allowed America to come into being.  That is why we humble ourselves, come to You and repent.  Help us, O God of our salvation!  Help us for the glory of Your name.  Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of Your name (Psalms 79:9).

You saw the misery of the children of Isreal in Egypt, and You heard their cries.  You manifested Your mighty power with signs, wonders, and miracles against Pharaoh, his officials, and all his people, for You knew how arrogantly they were treating Your people (Nehemiah 9:9-10).  So, today we ask You to help Christians in America to stand up for righteousness and for Your Word.  Give us boldness to speak out for the truth, defend Your reputation and honor Your name.  Give us the courage to die, if need be, for the sake of Jesus our Lord.  May nothing separate us from the love of Christ- no trouble, no calamity, no suffering, no persecution, no hunger, no danger, no threat of death, absolutely nothing! (Romans 8:35-39

Praying for... 'Secret Believers in High Places' - Friday Jan. 21 2011

Info:
Sometimes it is not easy to hold a high government position and be a follower of the true God.  Although Joseph, Nehemiah, and Daniel held on to their faith and their positions honorably and successfully, Obadiah practiced his faith at great risk to his status and even his life.  He was in charge of the royal palace under King Ahab of Israel.  His post was something like the United States White House chief of Staff.  The King and the queen lived an evil life, worshipped foreign gods and persecuted those who worshipped the Lord.  the queen was determined to exterminate the prophets of the Lord.  Obadiah was secretly a devout believer in the Lord and faithfully worshipped Him.  He took 100 of the Lord's prophets and hid them in two caves and gave them food and water (1 kings 18:3-13).

While Paul was a prisoner in Rome for the sake of the Gospel, he said that the whole palace guard knew that he was in prison for preaching Christ (Philippians 1:13).  He also said that there were believers in the King's palace and sent greetings from them to believers on the outside!  (Philippians 4:22).

Today there are believers in such high places.  They are followers of Jesus Christ, and some of them are converts from Islam.

Promise:
Don't be afraid to speak out! don't be silent! I'm with you. No one will attack you or harm you. I have many people in this city (Acts 18:9-10, GW).

Prayer:
Almighty God, You do great things. Your name is Holy; Your mercy is from generation to generation toward those who fear You.  You manifest the strength of Your arm; You scatter the proud; You raise the lowly and honor them.  You fill the hungry with good things, and send the rich away empty (Luke 1:49-53).

I praise Your Holy Name and rejoice for every person in a high position who worships Christ.  Help them to lean on You more and more.

May they hold nothing too dear to sacrifice for the glory of Your name, not even their lives.  May they be effective and competent in their service to their superiors and to their contries.

Fill their minds with clean thoughts, will their hearts with words of praise and thanksgiving to god.  Open their mouth to proclaim Christ with love.  help them to draw strength and honor from You.  I pray that everyone they meet will take note that they belong to Jesus (Acts 4:13).

May they never equate success with righteousness, or position with God's favor!  In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pride-

There is one vice of which no man in the world is free; which every one in the world loathes when he sees it in someone else; and of which hardly any people, except Christians ever imagine that they are guilty themselves....The essential vice, the utmost evil, is Pride. Unchastity, anger, greed, drunkenness, and all that, are mere fleabites in comparison: it was through Pride that the devil became the devil; Pride leads to every other vice: it is the complete anti-God state of mind... As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.

Mt. Soledad Rally/Protest

My Adventure's at the

RALLY IN SUPPORT OF THE MT. SOLEDAD VETERANS MEMORIAL

Mt. Soledad History
(for bigger view click picture)

Side Rant-  It's getting very annoying especially in California when WE THE PEOPLE vote on an issue and then it gets overturned.  Do our votes not count? Why do they even put an issue on the ballet if they aren't going to listen to our opinion?  Is everyone else okay with our votes meaning nothing?
 .... maybe it's just me....

-THE RALLY-

-THE SIGNS-

There were some protesters protesting the protest...

It could just be me... but I don't think taking Martin Luther King Jr's quote out of context to call people 'sincerely ignorant' or 'conscientiously stupid' is going to win them over... lol

The Old Rugged Cross

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share.

Praying for... 'President Barak H. Obama' - Friday Jan. 14 2011

This week we pray for 'President Barak H. Obama' - Friday Jan. 14 2011

Please join in each FRIDAY in INTERCEDING and FASTING(one meal) for Muslims and those on the FRONT LINES reaching out to Muslims.

Info:
In November 2008 the people of the United States elected Barak Hussein Obama president.  he is the first African-American to hold this position.  Also he is the first person of Muslim descent to be president of the modern world's most powerful nation.  This is a very difficult job.  Since most of us are not involved in politics, the responsibilities that the president of the United States carries are beyond our comprehension as "lay" people! Yet, as Bible-believing Christians we need to uphold him in our prayers.  He needs Christ as his savior, Lord and Master.  He needs Christ to sustain him, guide him and help him.

Promise:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land (II Chronicles 7:14, NIV).

Prayer:
God our Father, King of all kings and Lord of all lords, we pray for President Obama this week.  Grant him a spiritual visitation from heaven to walk with Christ as a true believer and follow in His steps as a true follower.

Give him grace to read God's Word and feed himself upon it.  Give him wisdom to lead America in the path of righteousness and depend on the Lord rather than the arm of flesh (II Chronicles 32:8).  Give him direction to initiate and approve laws and policies that bring glory to Christ's name.  Help him submit to Your mercy.  May he be an instrument of Your will and glory.  Protect him from the enemy who manipulates people and drives them away from Jesus.

Bless his wife and daughters.  Bring them close to You and protect them from harm, sin and the wiles of the enemy of our souls.  Bring his counselors, advisors and aids to worship Christ alone.

At the end of this time in office, may we look back and see that his was a God-fearing, Christ-oriented administration.

You are the God of the impossible.  You are the God of the miraculous.  Blessed be Your Glorious name from everlasting to everlasting. Amen.

PRAYING... 'Faith that Muslims Will Come to Christ' - Friday Jan. 7 2011 (#24)

PRAYING for 'Faith that Muslims Will Come to Christ' - Friday Jan. 7 2011

Info:
We need to have faith that Muslims will come to Christ.  Among Christians the world over, there is a lack of concern for reaching Muslims.  Many Christians who live among them are afraid to witness because of anti-evangelism laws in their lands.  Worse than their fear is the lack of faith.  Many Christians do not believe it is possible for muslims to accept Christ.

We need to recognize that this is one of Satan's methods of keeping us out of this great harvest field.  He does not want us to believe that Muslims can become a part of God's Kingdom.  Yet, the Bible tells us there will be shouts of joy and songs of glory to Jesus coming from people of every nation, tribe and language.

To have faith that Muslims will come to Christ is the first and foremost step to interceding for them

Promise:
I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13, GW)

Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm.  Nothing is too hard for you (Jeremiah 32:17, NIV)

Prayer:
I pray against apathy among Christians.  Plant in our hearts holy concern and a sincere desire to see Muslims saved.

Oh Lord, I pray that You will increase our faith.  May our faith move mountains.  And help us believe that this mountain of Islam shall be moved.

I bring to You all my brothers and sisters who have covenanted to pray for Muslims.  Give us faith to see the great harvest that You've prepared.  May each one of us experience the joy of leading at least one Muslim to Christ this year.

Surprise us, O God, in the name of Jesus, by letting us see Muslims come to Christ, grow in You, and become Your ambassadors to bring others to the Kingdom.
